Hypertension is a major cardiovascular risk factor, yet its determinants in highly mobile maritime populations are underexplored. This study aimed to identify independent predictors of hypertension among travelers at the Port of Ampana, Indonesia. A cross-sectional study was conducted (January–March 2026) involving 287 travelers. Blood pressure was measured digitally, and structured interviews captured demographic, lifestyle, and travel-related data. Hypertension prevalence was 40.1%. Independent predictors included heavy smoking (OR=2.374), travel duration (OR=2.134), travel frequency (OR=2.097), family history (OR=2.095), and age (OR=1.073). Rest patterns were not significant (p=0.277). Modifiable travel-related factors and smoking are key predictors, highlighting an urgent need for port-based screening, smoking cessation, and targeted health promotion in this vulnerable population.
